Campus Living

‘Campus Living’ brings together state-of-the-art campus facilities and commercial services at NUI Galway, including Conference & Event Centre, Catering, Accommodation, Retail, Sports and Summer Study Programmes.

Campus Living is a wholly owned subsidiary company of NUI Galway and is responsible for the management and operation of; 1,193 residence beds (including 764 beds in Corrib Village, 429 in Goldcrest Village and construction is underway of a further 674 beds which are due to open in 2023.  The company also manages conference/event and summer school activities on campus.

During the academic year, the residences are occupied primarily by first year and international students     and significant student-centered and pastoral supports are provided. The ethos is to support students as they transition to independent living by providing a safe location and a programme of activities to help students settle in to university life.  In addition to providing high quality accommodation, the villages also boast 24-hour on site personnel/security and on-site facilities such as shop, café, laundrettes, common rooms and social spaces.

During the summer months,   the residences operate one of the largest Failte Ireland approved accommodation centres in the country with bedroom sales in excess of 60,000 for the three month period. The company promotes and manages University facilities for conferences, events, summer study and English language programmes, tourist visits maximising revenues within a customer orientated environment. Conference and education group bookings and leisure visitors, the latter booked primarily through online travel agencies (OTA’s) e.g. booking.com are the primary source of summer business.

The company is continuing a period of significant growth which will see the number of residences grow from its current level of 1,193 to 1,867 beds and turnover is forecast to grow proportionally.
